~ About Me ~
Hi Hi! Kaci here! I live in Cleveland, Alabama, which most people have never heard of…don’t worry it’s not even big enough to be considered a city, it’s technically a town with a staggering 1,306 residents! So yeah, small!
I am known for my variety of goods and art, mostly of a nerdy persuasion! I like to dabble in multiple mediums, from acrylic, ink, and traditional 2D art, to polymer clay sculptures, jewelry making, to sewing and cosplay designs. In many ways I like to chase the serotonin with whatever strikes my fancy! In conventions in and around the South I am perhaps most known for my hand sculpted Mimic Chests and other monsters.
I believe that art belongs to everyone, everyone’s artistic journey is different, and often ever changing. I love to upcycle, reuse, and repurpose whenever possible as well as incorporate natural elements in my work. Mother Nature will always provide craft supplies! I always try to keep sustainability in mind when I create, and offer quality goods, wares, and art to others with the message that you don’t have to have the best of the best or the newest products and tools to make something wonderful, Tim Gunn said it best…
“Make it work!”
Right out of high school I went to Culinary School at Jefferson State Community College! I worked hard to put myself through school, and have an AAS in Foodservice and Culinary Management, and eventually attended a course at the ABC Bartending School in Marietta, Georgia and received a certificate of Mixology and Bar Management. I have worked in a variety of kitchens over the past 12 years and even worked as a freelance Food Stylist for several magazine articles! To me, food (while of course a practical skill) is yet another artistic medium.
I own and operate out of my grandparents home and 3.5 acre property. This is the home where I spent every Christmas Eve, and many a Friday night when I was young. It’s the home where my grandmother (better known as Memom) taught me paint, cook, and care for animals. It has always been a safe haven bursting at the seams with love and creativity, and though they are no longer with me in this realm I try to maintain that same feeling of welcoming, fellowship, and peace that they gave to anyone who visited.
Renovations and upkeep are well underway in and around the house, and one day I hope to open part of our home as a Bed and Breakfast and host small scale, events, Artist Retreats, D&D Getaways, and Glamping trips in our woods! But currently, it’s occupied by myself, my husband James, and our two dogs Precious and Daisy.
